Ecotourism Provence Provence

A pure moment of happiness: Discovery, sharing, pleasure for the taste buds and pleasure for the eyes.

An overview was offered to this group so they could discover the principal tourist sites of Provence, on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, natural reserves, farms and much more...

The group was accompanied by local guides, passionate about their profession.

Meals were mostly Provencal vegetarian organic, adapted to their request

Over 7 days we proposed:

DAY 1 Carcassonne toward Minerve

-          Visit of the village with a specialized guide to discover the Colombe of Minerva, the Cathar museum and the church.

Beautiful histories of the Cathar past narrated by the guide.

-          Dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in Ornaison.

DAY 2 Avignon and Uzes

-   Visit of the little Medieval village of Uzes with a specialized guide. To be found: History, old stones and exchanges on the anecdotes of the villagers.

-       Free time at the market, one of the best known of the region.

-       Lunch in Uzes

-       A stop at the Pont du Gard to see this majestuous construction.

-          Visit of Avignon with a specialized guide.

Discovery of the Palace of the Popes and of the Pont Saint Bénézet  on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, walk on the stones of the medieval period.

-     Dinner on your own in Saint Rémy de Provence, city which welcomed Vincent Van Gogh.

-          Night in a superior 3 star hotel in Saint Rémy de Provence

DAY 3 Camargue:

-          Visit of the center of Arles with a specialized guide to see the antique heritage.

Historic trip throughout the city, the main sites built by Caesar, a few stops in the steps of Van Gogh.

-          Friendly lunch in a beautiful vineyard producing organic wine followed by a visit of the vineyard with commentary.

The meal was prepared by the owners based on the products of their garden.

-          Guided visit of the church Notre-Dame-de-la-Mer, in Saintes Marie de la Mer, done by the priest in English.

-          Dinner and night in Camargue in a 3 star hotel.

DAY 4 Camargue:

-          Cruise with commentary by the Captain, in Camargue (Petit Rhone and Bac du Sauvage) to see landscapes, the wild animals of Camargue, bulls, herons, flamingos... and many other species.

-          Lunch in a Michelin 1 star gourmet restaurant Cuisine based on fruits and vegetables of the restaurant’s garden.

-          Promenade in Camargue with a naturalist guide on the site of pink flamingo nests.

Or a 2 h. horseback ride with a Manadier.

-          Dinner and night in Camargue in a 3 star hotel.

DAY 5 Aix en Provence

-          Guided visit in the center of Aix en Provence.

-          Lunch in Aix en Provence 

-          Walk on the hiking trail of Sainte Victoire with your mountain guide or walk in the steps of Cezanne with a guide specializing in the center of town.

-          Dinner on your own in Aix en Provence.

-          Night in Aix en Provence

DAY 6 Verdon

-          Visit of a lavender field and of a farm in Valensole.

-          Lunch at the farm

-       Cruise in an electric boat in the Verdon of Montpezat to the Gorges de Baudinard, with commentary by an archaeologist from the prehistory museum of Quinson.

-          Dinner and night in Aix en Provence.

Day 7:

-          Departure :

Activities are flexible, additional activities may be offered upon simple request.
