We offer you a hike starting from the charming village of Viens, nestled on a rocky spur, to discover dry stone, this emblematic heritage which testifies to the ancestral know-how and history of the Provençal hinterland. This loop hike, ideal for exploring the region at your own pace, offers landscapes of breathtaking beauty, with remarkable views of the surrounding hills and the dry stone walls that shape this authentic and rich territory.
Itinerary :
You start the walk from the allée des Platanes car park, and head west along the road towards Apt.
After a good ten minutes, you'll come to the first two huts in a residential area of Viens.
You will reach another hut, built in tiers, located one kilometre outside the village.
Then, after a fine view of the Grand Luberon mountain, as you follow a path back towards Viens, you'll admire the largest hut in the area, with its beehive-like profile.
Finally, after enjoying two new huts with original shapes, you will visit the fortified town of Viens, with its gateway, narrow streets, vaulted passageways and magnificent houses, its great medieval tower and its belfry.
