Setting up a system of swimming pool safety standards
Since January 2004, the law requires the manufacturer or installer of a new pool to secure it. Four methods are proposed:
- The protection barrier: Located all around the pool, it must have a minimum height of 1.10 meters and withstand impacts of at least 50kg. The bars must not have any roughness. The locking system requires at least two actions to be released.
- The alarm : According to the norm NF P 90-307 (bearing a stamp which specifies it), it has a siren that goes off during the immersion of any object weighing 6 kg or more without setting off inopportunely. The alarms must resist + 70 ° C and - 25 ° C.
- Security cover: the norm NF P 90-308 states that it must be constructed to prevent accidental drowning of a child under 5 years old and allow the passage of a 100 kg adult without tearing or disconnection.
- The pool enclosure: This is the structure that completely covers the pool.
