A GLOBAL APPROACH
The watchwords that have guided Plaisirs & Maisons de Provence are quality, authenticity, and crafts.
A meticulous selection of accommodation and service providers is made.
They are all rated using a very strict evaluation grid.
This grid is based on 10 themes: the welcome given to guests, hygiene, decoration, the authenticity of the place, value for money, the way the establishment is run, and the involvement of the managers in working towards sustainable tourism...
A score is given to each establishment on a total of between 0 and 250 points.
Only establishments with a score between 180 and 250 were selected.
FOR ACCOMMODATION
A classification based on the number of Papillons has been defined to differentiate the standard of services: 2 Papillons, 3 Papillons, 4 Papillons, 5 Papillons. There are already numerous classifications in the tourism sector (stars, ears of corn, etc.), some of which are recognised internationally by travelers.
The aim is not to add another label but to refine the current classification.
The idea for this concept came to me when I was canvassing all the nature parks.
I found myself confronted with establishments in the same category but with very different levels of quality, service, and style of decoration.
So I wanted to classify these accommodations as follows:
- 2 butterflies : Clean, well-kept accommodation with simple decor or a rustic interior from the 80s.
- 3 butterflies : Accommodation with modern or traditional furnishings and decor, offering classic, well-kept, and comfortable facilities.
- 4 butterflies : Charming accommodation with top-of-the-range furnishings, located in an exceptional setting in the countryside or the center of town.
- 5 butterflies : Charming accommodation, typical of the region, such as a Provençal farmhouse, sheepfold, silkworm farm, or luxury property with very top-of-the-range furnishings, usually decorated by interior designers and with landscaped gardens.
FOR RESTAURANTS
The restaurant owners chosen are committed to their trade. They prepare their menus according to the market, using seasonal produce. They use only local produce. They work with their fresh produce. Their menus are sophisticated and innovative.
FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS
The service providers listed on this site have been tested and selected for :
- their expertise
- their quality of service
- their local character
- their love of their profession
- their involvement in protected areas
- their state of mind (respect for the people, the land, their ancestral know-how, the repetition of gestures handed down by their forefathers)
- their desire to welcome their guests as friends.
To ensure quality over time and to check that the services offered by both the agency and the service providers have been carried out correctly, a satisfaction questionnaire is sent to each customer at the end of their stay.
This questionnaire is carefully studied. For each comment, whether positive or negative, about the product purchased or the agency's services, information is passed on to the service provider so that corrective action can be taken.
A physical check is also carried out by a representative of the agency to ensure that the progress approach is being properly implemented.
