The walls will talk the four facades of the main courtyard of the Palace of the Popes will be illuminated to plunge you in a 360-degree sensory journey.

WHERE DO THE LUMINESCENCES OF AVIGNON TAKE PLACE?

The luminescences of Avignon take place in a unique and exceptional place: the main court yard of the Palace of the Popes of Avignon.

Home of nine successive popes, crossroad of Medieval Christianity, site of resistance to several sieges, the palace of the Popes was at the heart and was the witness of important chapters in European history.

The site, unique in the world, is classified as world heritage by UNESCO.

Today, it is recognized as the largest Gothic palace of Europe.

Between architecture, light and music, history is brought to life and the experience will take your breath away.

THE LUMINESCENCES OF AVIGNON, AN ARTIST DIRECTING AN UNCOMMON SHOW.

Bruno Seillier is the creator, script-writer, director and artistic director of more that forty shows known throughout the world.

Château of Versailles, Les Invalides, Viaduc of Millau, Puy du Fou as well as Notre-Dame de Paris, were the canvas for this magician of light.

"Moeniamenie" is a neologism to define a new visual art to show off  heritage and stones. It uses various perfectly synchronized visual and sound effects in order to tell the public the history of a remarkable monument or building.

Beyond traditional sound and lights, moeniamenie melds together stone, image, video and sound. It is not only a matter of projection like on a screen because the monument becomes the principal actor which moves, is illuminated, is transformed and speaks.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION ON THE LUMINESCENCES OF AVIGNON:

The shows will take place every evening until October 3, 2015 in the main courtyard of the Palace of the Popes Enter through the place du Palais des Papes.

Shows in French at 10 :15 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Shows in English at 10:15 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Free for children under 8.
