The farmers market of Velleron

Ranked among the 100 exceptional markets of France by the National Council for Culinary Arts, the great farmers market of Velleron has become an institution in Provence. Located north of the Luberon Natural Park a few kilometers from Isle sur La Sorgue, for 30 years it has attracted more than 150 000 visitors per year.

It was created in 1985 by the initiative of the mayor of the village.

The great farmers market of Velleron takes place every evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the foot of the village on the Thor road.

It has the particularity that only pre-registered local producers may offer fruits and vegetables picked that same day. The number of stalls vary according to the season (usually from 150 to 200)

It is the same story every evening, when waved by the local policeman, buyers rush to purchase fresh products picked that same day and changing according to the season, melons and cherries in the summer, leeks and cabbages in autumn, everything directly from farmers.

The Market in Velleron is an institution in Provence.

The farmers market of Velleron is a daily market held all year:

In the summer from the first Monday of April to the last Saturday of September every day except Sundays and holidays from 6:00 p.m.

In the winter, from the first Tuesday of October to the last Saturday of March where the market is held every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday except holidays from 4:30 p.m.
