Over the course of a day in an air-conditioned minibus,
We propose a tour to discover one of the most beautiful treasures of Provence.
You will start this promenade by the visit of the city of Orange
This city contains two important markers of the Roman era, on the Unesco World Heritage list:
- The Arc de Triomphe, symbol of the glory of imperialism, and,
- The Antique Theater, dating from the 1st century, the best preserved in Europe.
(entry fee and audio-guide included).
Then you can continue through the vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape.
A panoramic view of this exceptional territory can be admired from the ruins of its castle (former summer residence of the Popes).
A wine tasting is planned (red and white), in one of the caves of Châteauneuf du Pape, called the "area with 13 grape varieties".
You will learn, through wine tasting, the history and knowledge of the wine growers.
You will then continue toward Arles.
A pedestrian circuit is offered to admire the not-to-be-missed sites painted by Van Gogh such as the “café de la nuit” or the “jardin de la maison de santé”.
Also on the agenda for the outing are the rich Roman past of the old city of Arles, notably with its famous arenas and its antique theater.
You will continue your journey toward les Baux de Provence
In the heart of the Alpilles Regional Natural Park, you will be enchanted by this village classified among the most beautiful villages of France.
It was constructed on a 254 m high rocky spur.
It overlooks Arles and the Camargue. The city of Les Baux offers an exceptional panorama.
The city possesses a very rich historical and architectural heritage with its 22 classified monuments.
You will end the outing with the antiquities of Saint Remy de Provence.
Photo stop to immortalize the sublime Arc de Triomphe and the Mausoleum dating from the 1st century BC.
For more than 16 centuries, they were the only visible elements of the Greco-Roman city of Glanum, excavated and only updated beginning in 1921.
Both are located in the heart of the landscapes painted by Van Gogh. Thursday in Orange or Saturday in Arles you will enjoy your free time by wandering through the stands of the Provençal market. The order of visits can be modified accordingly.
